Aftercare

The First Day

Typically, I give out a wrapping that will cover the tattoo for the first day. This wrapping will fall off with sweat, so be mindful.  After 24 hours, I advise to take off the bandage and WASH the area thoroughly with soap and water. I suggest an antibacterial and UNSCENTED soap.

Healing Process

This process usually last 2-4 weeks. I also advise you don't get a tattoo in the same area while the current tattoo heals. If you want to use a lotion, there are a variety of options that I use. I love Hustle Butter and event unscented coco butter (I love Palmers). Your fresh tattoo will get flakey when dry. You are taking care of a WOUND. Take care of it like a big scrape or minor cut. So, no swimming, don't play in the mud, keep the area clean.

Special Attention

The tattoo will get itchy, VERY ITCHY. Do not scratch it, you have to let the ink settle to your skin properly. You wouldn't scratch a healing scab, would you? When you use a tattoo lotion or coco butter, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! You still want the tattoo to breath, like a wound. Don't lather the stuff on there. Walking around with a fat glop of tattoo goo on you is not cool. Tattoos should be cool.
